Don't get Left Behind

Don’t get Left Behind

By Ron Bedell,

This movie is entitled, “Left Behind.”

This movie describes the Rapture of the Church. No one knows when the Rapture of the Church will happen. The Bible says Christ will come as a “thief in the night.” But when the Rapture of the Church happens it will be the greatest home going for every Christian (Jewish and Gentile believers in the Lord Jesus Christ from Pentecost to the Rapture), while the unbelieving Jewish and Gentile world will be left behind and go through the seven years of Tribulation. When the Rapture happens hundreds of millions of Christians will literally vanish from planet earth while the unbelieving world will be left behind. The Bible says believers who have already died will be Raptured first and then we believers in Christ who are still physically alive will be Raptured next. This will all happen in the twinkling of an eye. The Rapture of the Church will leave behind a great catastrophe and a world in complete chaos while the Christians will be in Heaven with Jesus. Only Jewish and Gentile believers in Christ will go up with Christ at the Rapture of the Church. The Rapture is only the beginning. That is, right after the Rapture of the Church there will be seven years of Tribulation on the earth. Israel will sign a seven year peace treaty with the Man of Sin (the anti-Christ). But the nations (that is, the Gentile world) will endure God’s three types of judgment (seals, Trumpets, and Bowls). The purpose of God’s judgment is to produce belief in Christ among the unbelieving Gentiles. Plus Revelation chapter seven says that God will seal 144,000 Jews from the 12 tribes of Israel for the purpose of evangelizing the unbelieving Gentiles. But most Gentiles will reject Christ during the Tribulation. There will be many Gentiles who will believe in Christ for their eternal salvation but most will not. The Tribulation will last seven years. The seven years of Tribulation is Daniels 70th week of prophecy (Daniel 9:27 – “he, that is, the anti-Christ, shall confirm a covenant with Israel for one week). One week equals 7 years. There are 70 weeks of Jewish prophecy (70 weeks = 490 years, that is, 70 X 7 = 490). There are 490 years of Jewish prophecy. The 483 year ended at the death of Christ. Anyway the anti-Christ will make this peace treaty with Israel and he will break this peace treaty right in the middle of the seven years. He will go into the Holy of Holies in the temple in Jerusalem and establish an image of himself for the entire world to worship. During the second half of the Tribulation every Jew will be running for their lives to get away from the Beast (the anti-Christ). Now the eyes of the Jews will be wide open and they will know that the anti-Christ is not their Messiah.

So the Rapture of the Church is just the beginning. The seven years of Tribulation will follow the Rapture.

The Rapture of the Church and Christ’s second coming are separated by seven years of Tribulation. Again the Church Age (from Pentecost to the Rapture) has nothing to do with the seven year Tribulation. The 70th week of Daniel is seven years of Jewish prophecy.

Lastly how do you receive God’s free gift of eternal life and go up at the Rapture?

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever (your name) believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on Me hath everlasting life.” (John 6:47)

Acts 4:12 says that eternal salvation is only in the Lord Jesus Christ and nobody else, not even ourselves.

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
