Modern Day Environmentalism and Progressive Movement vs. Conservatism

Modern Day Environmentalism and Progressive Movement vs. Conservatism

By Ron Bedell

The modern day consensus of the “Environmentalists” is that public policy should not favor human life over non-human life. This view stands in opposition to America’s Founders’ view, which was centered on the protection of the natural human rights to human life, liberty, and property. The Progressive Movement advocate radical social and political reform (change). Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (AOC) is an example of a Progressive. The main objective of the “Progressive Movement” is the elimination of problems caused by industrialization, urbanization, immigration and political corruption. (But those problems were caused by the progressive elites themselves for the purpose of bringing about radical changes to the left. The people bringing about the radical changes to the left are the same people who caused the problems!) Progressives primarily target political machines and their bosses. Progressives take down politicians to establish their left wing agenda. Progressive politicians are the exact opposite of conservative politicians. Progressive politicians seek to radically change the natural order that God already established while conservative politicians want to maintain the status quo and are very satisfied with God’s natural order. Under a government run by progressives the government is large (because of taxation and regulation) and the private sector is small; that is, the government is all powerful and tyrannical while the people have little to no rights and very limited money. Under a government run by conservatives the government is small and the private sector is large. In a conservative government, the God given rights of the people are respected and protected by the government and the opportunities to achieve great wealth in the private sector is unlimited. Under a government run by conservatives the people can afford to give liberally as much as they want to their church and to others. Lastly, the goal of the modern day Environmentalists and the Progressives is the same – New World Order! Both the Environmentalists and the Progressives seek to undermine and destroy God’s natural order and create a man made New World Order where the rights of the individual are completely transferred from the individual to the government. Of course Modern Day Environmentalism and the Progressive Movement are laying the ground work for not just the New World Order but also for a totalitarian government and the anti-Christ (who will rule the world during the Tribulation period). While on the other hand conservatism (that is, conservative politicians in government) provides a golden opportunity for Christians in the private sector to build God’s kingdom through evangelism, giving large amounts of money to Christian organizations, etc.

The purpose of government is to protect the God given rights of the people and punish evil doers (Romans 13:1-7). But how can an evil government protect people rights and punish evil doers? The answer is, “They are not going to.” Evil people in public office are not going to protect the rights of the people; they are going to destroy them. Plus evil people in office are not going to punish evil doers; instead they will reward evil doers and punish the righteous. Righteous people in public office will protect the rights of the people and punish the evil doers. By the way the correct interpretation of Romans 13:1-7 is for Christians is to obey government when government is executing the righteous will of God, but resist evil government that rejects God and is executing the evil will of Satan. Modern day environmentalists and progressives reject God and His natural order and pass laws that execute the evil will of Satan.

Typically environmentalists and progressives support big government through taxation and regulation. But taxation breaks the Law of God. When government creates an excuse to tax (steal money) they break the 8th and even 10th Commandment of God (the Ten Commandments are the Commandments of God).

Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:3-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21):

<!--<if !supportLists>-->4.       <!--<endif>-->Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy (Exodus 20:8-11)

<!--<if !supportLists>-->5.       <!--<endif>-->Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee (Exodus 20:12)

The theme of the John Birch Society is: less government, more individual responsibility, and with God’s help a better world. This is exactly how America’s Foundering Fathers thought and many conservatives today think.
