Most have no idea how these folks live. For 45 years I have worked in the system and know first hand how they live. If they don't own it, they don't take care of it either. Chicken bones in ladder back chairs by the bed. This is not normal!!! A one gallon empty food can by the bed to urinate in. To...

My mom worked at the county health department where people who didn't have money and were on government assistance came for birth control and health care of various sorts. I can confirm what you are saying Amos, she had some crazy stories, which were only the tip of the iceberg as she never told us ...

Paul, I could write a book on this stuff. They can't fire me now, so I can talk freely as the 1st Amendment allows me..... LOL

Well Amos someone needs to tell the truth because the majority of folks who never have to encounter any of the "other" side of life have no idea what the reality is that exists there, unless someone enlightens them.

Allegedly they do periodically inspect public housing

I do not smoke, But I am opposed to any forced restrictions on people personal decisions which have no impact on others.

Second hand smoke, sctructure fires in multi-family dwellings caused by smoking?
Todd Powley

It doesn't take away their right to smoke. It just says you can't smoke in public housing. It is a bit of a fire hazard.
Harry Hondalon
Todd, The same asshats that want to control personal choice when it comes to cigarettes are the same ones that are encouraging the legalization of Marijuana. We are being redirected by sheeple think along morality and it is destroying our ability to construct individual thought. It's not about smok...

Smoking is out of favor; so, putting restraints on it is easy. People feel very good about stopping personal habits that are fashionable to dislike. Perhaps, next, they will check the cupboards to be sure all food stuffs are healthy and approved.

It's not about taking away people's right to smoke. We don't let you yell fire in a crowded theater for a reason. Maybe the same should be true for smoking in multiple occupant dwellings such as townhouses and apartment buildings? If people want to smoke on the sidewalk, in their cars, on their o...

Oh yeh. They can shoot up, smoke crack, take meth but they can't smoke tobacco. That'll work.

Some states require them to take drug tests

According to the National Fire Protection Association, "Smoking materials (i.e., cigarettes, cigars, pipes, etc.) are the leading cause of fire deaths in the United States." If that's the case, then why is it unreasonable to restrict them in multi-family buildings and to prevent second hand smoke. ...

they have already stopped smoking in restaurants, bars, airplanes, hospitals, and in every store you go to. They are even Banning the vaporizer smoke in these places. anything to control people I believe. Next thing it will be consuming things in front of other people like a drink of water.
Harry Hondalon
I agree, and the worst freedom of choice that I see as being taken away is the stupid " Seat belt laws " which have made many small towns wealthy.
I can not see how they can get away with a law that has become a tax on motorists legal.
Whether I wear a seat belt or I don't wear a seat belt in no way i...

What if we let people smoke but only if they buy insurance to cover any damage to the multi-family building and other peoples property from fires so taxpayers don't have to cover it? When they leave, then they have to pay the bill to get the smell out and fix any damage caused by smoking when they ...
Harry Hondalon
Todd, Apparently you have never been in a public housing building, I think the smell of stale cigarette smoke should be mandatory to cover the stench of the garbage which is piled up, the smell of human shit and unwashed bodies. I'm not sure if there's insurance for that of to cover the damage of br...

A lot of laws limit our freedom of choices. We don't really have the kinds of issues that you mention in our area. What this actually is has to do with a policy. You might as well liken it to a lease agreement between tenant and landlord. In this case, the landlord is the government. I wasn't a...

I guess where I'm coming from is that maybe this is part of the war on poverty? There are a lot of people who are poor who have social problems and they drink and they take drugs. That's not true for everybody. There's also the problem that a lot of former drug addicts have transitioned to psycho...
